Celine Mudahakana
Since the 1994 genocide, Rwanda has made a remarkable recovery in rebuilding itself through projects to promote peace, economic stability, and women’s rights. As a young Rwandan, Celine Mudahakana co-founded the Isano Cooperative to join Rwanda reach this vision and to participate in the rebuilding of her country. Isano Cooperative brings together young Rwandans no longer divided by different ethnic groups to do a craft and to create a community as Rwandans in a peaceful and creative setting. After learning the art of weaving at the Putney School, Celine went on to complete her studies at Mount Holyoke College. She is currently working in the education field and she continues to support the artisans by teaching entrepreneurship skills. |
